Notice BoardPlease note that this Surgery, in common with other participating surgeries in the area, will be closing for telephone calls from 1pm on Thursday 12th January, to enable Doctors and staff to undertake Personal Development Training, as required by The Department of Health. Our receptionists will be available to provide assistance but, if urgent medical assistance is required, during this time, patients should telephone South East Health Out of Hours Service on 03000 242424, where a Health Professional will be available.
SEASONAL FLU VACCINATIONS We still have plenty of flu vaccine, and continue to take bookings which should be made through Reception - please do not telephone until after 11 am if at all possible. As usual, priority will be given to those who aged 65 or over as at 31/3/2012 or who are in a Clinical Risk Group.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS As a Practice, we have always tried to be as helpful as possible when dealing with requests for repeat prescriptions and, more often than not, are able to provide new prescriptions the same day, so long as the request is with us by 10 am. This is in spite of the fact that, in our Practice Leaflet, and on our website, we state that 24 hours notice is required and that most other practices require 48 hours notice.
We are now finding that this is placing an unbearable burden on our staff. In future, whereas we will try to keep to this arrangement, when we can, we may not be able to, particularly on Mondays or Tuesdays. Please, therefore, we would ask you always to allow as much time as possible, when ordering your medication, to avoid disappointment.
In addition, we regret that we shall have to enforce the rule whereby we will not accept medication requests on the telephone, unless your GP has agreed to this, for health reasons. Our receptionists will, therefore, be unable to help, if you telephone, and your understanding would be much appreciated. Finally, when ordering on-line, which we would ask you to do, where possible, please do so using this website rather than by sending an email. BOOKING OF APPOINTMENTS Please be aware that appointments may be booked up to 6 weeks in advance. Patients may like to consider booking a little way ahead, therefore, if their problem isn't urgent, During periods of inclement weather, we shall continue to open and you should attend for any appointment you have made. If, however, you will be unable to come, please let us know, as soon as possible beforehand.
